Norwich is full of amazing residents and groups who volunteer their time to transform green spaces into vibrant, welcoming places for everyone. Want to join them? Norwich City Council is here to help you make it happen.

Why get involved?

Community gardens and shared spaces bring people together, improve wellbeing, and make our neighbourhoods greener and friendlier. Whether it’s a small patch of land or a larger park area, your efforts can make a big difference.

How to start

  1. If you’d like to manage a green space, here’s how:
  2. Email us at community@norwich.gov.uk and we'll send you a form.
  3. When you complete it, include as much detail as possible.
  4. We’ll review your application and contact you to discuss your ideas and support options.
  5. Sign an agreement or build a 'friends' model with us - this gives you permission to care for the space.
