Residents have been asked to give their views on proposed play area improvements as part of the wider multi-million-pound revamp of Sloughbottom Park.
Councillor Carli Harper, cabinet member for major projects and finance, said: “We’re looking to make Sloughbottom Park a place packed full of opportunities for families and local people to have fun, play sport and have a great time.
“These three options are designed to make play even more fun, interesting and inclusive for children, which is why we want to hear from parents, grandparents, carers, community groups and children. That’s why we’re running the consultation both online and in person.”
The consultation on Get Talking Norwich features three proposals to improve the play area in the Mile Cross Park.
They are:
- The Great Owl - A large sculptural owl creates a magical focal point. Children can climb inside and explore, with a birds-eye view from the owl’s eyes.
- Ecology Giants - This multi-level tower offers slides, lookout points and climbing challenges.
- The Nest - This climbing structure uses rope nets to promote balance, strength and coordination.
The in-person consultation take place at Sloughbottom Park play area on Friday 28 November 2025 between 11am and 2pm.
