Allotment site representatives, associations and groups

Site Representatives

Site reps are volunteers who help support people with allotments. They:

  • Raise issues with the council on behalf of tenants and share tenant views when rules or policies are discussed.
  • Join regular meetings with the council through the Site Reps Forum.
  • Welcome new tenants, helping them find their plot and offering site-specific advice.

They don’t enforce rules or carry out inspections.

The Norwich Site Reps Forum meets every two months to talk about allotment issues, council policies, and ways to promote allotments.

If you're part of an allotment association, you can send someone to represent your group at the forum. Individual tenants can also volunteer to represent their site.

Associations help tenants by:

  • Organising events and activities
  • Promoting allotments
  • Representing members in council discussions

Open to individuals and groups across the city.

Norfolk Organic Group

Local group for Garden Organic and the Soil Association. Offers talks and info on organic growing.

Bluebell North

  • Bluebell Model Allotment Association: Visit the trading hut for essentials and advice.

  • Strong Roots: A therapeutic garden project for people facing social isolation.

  • Cottage Farm Allotment & Leisure Gardeners Association: Hosts social events, tea mornings, and runs a site hut.

Mousehold Avenue North

  • Stepping Stones Project: Supports adults with learning difficulties through gardening.

Mousehold Avenue South

  • Mousehold South Allotment Association: Organises events and promotes the site.
    Won first place in Norwich in Bloom 2018.
