Allotments in Norwich

Norwich has over 2,000 allotment plots across 18 sites around the city.

Plot sizes

Standard plots measure 125 square metres. Subject to approval, plot size may be increased if the existing is allotment is maintained.

What’s involved

Having an allotment takes time and effort. You’ll need to:

  • visit regularly to care for your plants
  • harvest your crops
  • keep weeds under control
  • clear and prepare the plot when you first get it

Costs (from September 2025–26)

  • Norwich residents: £59.35 per year (47p per square metre)
  • with discount: £41.66 per year (33p per square metre)
  • non-residents: £78 per year (62p per square metre)

There’s also a one-time £15 fee when you first sign up. This covers admin and your gate key.

Who gets a discount?

You’ll get 30% off if you:

  • live in Norwich and are of pension age
  • have a Go4less card

How to pay

Rent is due by 1 October each year.

We’ll send you a letter at least three weeks before with payment details.
