Advertising, informing and consultation

How we share planning applications and invite feedback from the public and relevant organisations.

How we inform and consult on planning applications

  • Most people have 21 days to respond after receiving a consultation letter check your letter for the exact deadline.
  • Specialist groups and government bodies may also be asked for their views depending on the application.
  • You can view and track applications online (from 2006 onwards) on the Planning Public Access website, including comments, plans, reports and decisions.

You can send comments:

Please include your name, address, and the application reference or site address. Comments are reviewed by planning officers and may be published online (anonymous comments aren’t accepted).

We check all comments before publishing to remove sensitive or personal information. Comments may take a few days to appear online.

Due to the high number of responses, the council won’t reply to each one individually, but all comments are considered before a decision is made.
